Grip Fit™ roller blinds are designed for secure, easy installation, but ensuring the correct suitability and precise measurements is essential for a successful fit. This guide walks you through assessing your space, ensuring your recess is suitable, and measuring accurately.
1. Is Your Recess Solid?
The Grip Fit™ bracket system relies on a secure and sturdy recess to withstand the force exerted during installation. The bracket system exerts up to 60kg of force, so a solid recess is crucial for a secure installation. Suitable substrates include brick, tile, plasterboard, and wood, all of which have been thoroughly tested for compatibility.
Note: If your recess is made of plasterboard without a solid backing or any material that shifts under pressure, it will not be suitable for Grip Fit™ installation.
2. Is Your Recess Deep Enough?
The cassette requires a minimum clearance depth of 9cm.
3. Are Your Walls Parallel?
For the Grip Fit™ system to function, the walls within the recess must be parallel:
Accurate measurements are critical for ensuring your Grip Fit™ roller blind fits perfectly. We recommend measuring the area where the blind will be installed within the 'Recess,' positioning as close to the window as possible.
Important Note:
The Fabric will be up to 4cm less than overall blind width to allow for brackets and operation. The Roller Blind will always be manufactured with 'extra' fabric on the length to ensure the tube is covered and not visible when the blind is fully extended to the height ordered.
