What are Blackout Roller Blinds?
Blackout Roller blinds are a free hanging piece of Blackout fabric rolled around a tubular roller mechanism known as the barrel or tube. The fabric rolls up and down vertically and is controlled by either a sidewinder chain or spring tension control.

Blackout Roller blind fabrics come in a wide choice of colours with each providing total light and privacy control, protection from the sun along with insulating properties. Blackout Roller Blinds are made on a durable steel barrel and can be regular or reverse roll.  There is an option of a sidewinder or spring control to raise and lower the blind, both of which are easy to use and offer complete flexibility of choice.

Operation Controls
There are 2 types of control options for Blackout Roller Blinds, Sidewinder or spring control.
The sidewinder control on our custom made blind offers a choice of chain colours to raise and lower the blind.  You decide which side you would prefer the control, right or left. Spring tension roller blinds work with a decorative tassel in the centre of the blind that it is pulled to raise and lower the blind. The blind will lock into position by virtue of the spring tension held in the barrel.

Measuring (see our 'How to measure Blackout Blinds')

•    Decide on fitting position, Recess or Exact.
•    Check how you will fix the blind (Top Fix / Face Fix)
•    Look for any obstructions such as handles, dado rails, tiles
•    Measure the width first and measure at least three points*
•    Decide whether the width measurement is Exact or Recess
•    Measure the drop in at least three positions across the window*
•    Double check all your measurements

*   Take the smallest width and drop measurements in centimeters
 

Installation
Blackout Roller Blinds are simple to install and even easier to use. Universal brackets are supplied as standard and can be either top fixed or face fixed into the wall or frame. Once fitted the blind simply slots into them.

Cleaning
Blackout Roller Blinds are very easy to clean by wiping them with a damp cloth.
